Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, 49, and her husband, actor Justin Theroux, 46, announced their surprising split in a statement, saying it was a mutual decision made at the end of last year.
And in a bizarre twist, fans are now calling for Jennifer to be reunited with her former husband Brad Pitt, following his split from Angelina Jolie two years ago.
It’s the first time the pair have been single in 13 years, and their love story was well documented throughout their marriage between 2000 and 2005 – with Brad even appearing alongside Jennifer during an episode of Friends.
Since the announcement of their split, fans are now urging the popular actress to reunite with Brad – despite him famously getting together with Angelina after starring alongside her in Mr and Mrs Smith. At the time of their split, Jennifer was reported to said: “Yeah, that’s karma for you!”
“Jennifer Aniston and Brad Bitt have both divorced their spouses. Are you thinking what I am thinking?” one fan wrote online, while another gushed: “Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are both single 2018. I never thought I’d see the day.”
Alongside a GIF of a fainting woman, another fan wrote: “If Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reunite. This will be me…”
“RIP JENNIFER ANISTON & JUSTIN THEROUX”s relationship. But in other news, #neverforget Brad and Jen. Brad and Jen forever.” another wrote.
But others didn’t quite agree, with one writing: “Omg how can people wish for Jennifer Aniston to get back together with Brad Pitt? He cheated on her remember? Let the girl move forward!!”
“It’s so silly people are already rooting for her & Brad Pitt to get back together! If I had to guess, I don’t think she’s dying to get back with a man who divorced her for another woman! I mean, really?” another added.
It comes after Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced they are to split two and a half years after getting married.
In a statement, the Marley and Me actress’ spokesman said: “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation.
“This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.
“Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.
“Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
Jennifer and Justin tied the knot in a surprise ceremony at their LA home on August 5 2015 after becoming engaged in August 2012.
